Traditional watch in a modern time

Who still buys a traditional watch?
Having all the technology widgets with us most of the time influences us to believe that wearing a watch today is pretty much ‘useless’. This inspired certain people to write about various justifications as to why buying a watch is still a thing. And amongst the most popular were the ‘life-long endurance’ of the traditional watch.
Unlike the new technology widgets such as the smart watches, which judging from our experience with technology, will not last nearly as long.
Gentlemen value tradition
So why do I believe a gentleman must wear a watch? A proper watch says that you value tradition. It shows that you intend to be on time.  It also occasionally gives you something to ‘play’ with. It is much better to check something on you which is charming an stylish rather than the anti-social habit of checking our smartphones.
The range of acceptable jewellery for a man is limited. Mostly you will use your nice watch, a stylish pair of cufflinks or a simple wedding ring if you are married. Your watch also makes it easier for you to express your sense of style. It is like a form of self-expression reflecting a hint of class, adventure and sports depending on the make of the watch.
Simply, just as a lady feels incomplete without her adornments, the gentleman is incomplete without a watch.
As the saying goes – boys look at their smartphones  to check time – men look at a watch.
A watch is art
But the main reason why I love watches is because they are a piece of art. A fine mix between art and engineering. One of my favourites is without a doubt this Kinsale Gold Chronograph Watch by Grand Frank.
I’ve had this watch for a bit more than a year now, and I can certainly say it has been an absolutely positive surprise both from Grand Frank as a brand and the watch itself.
This was the first time I was getting a watch with a mesh strap, and I have to admit I was a nit skeptical. However, it turned out a real success.
The watch is extremely comfortable and at the same time its elegance and style gives a charm to the whole outfit.
I believe it forms a great combination with both smart attire and more casual outfits.
This watch has attracted more attention than any other item in my wardrobe.
